Find out where your home is losing energy.
A home energy audit is a three to four hour walkthrough of your house with a certified energy auditor. Thermal imaging, a blower door test and a room-by-room insulation assessment show you exactly where air, heat and money are getting out. We perform residential energy audits across four core counties around Lake Norman and the greater Charlotte area.

Where we perform energy audits
Every audit covers the same eight areas, whether you’re in Cornelius or Concord. You get a written report, not a verbal summary at the door.
We travel beyond our listed areas for larger projects and add communities regularly. One call confirms it.
What's included in a whole home energy audit
Every audit covers the same eight areas, whether you’re in Cornelius or Concord. You get a written report, not a verbal summary at the door.
Air leakage
Blower door test
We depressurize the house to measure exactly how much outside air is getting in, and find where.
Thermal imaging
Infrared inspection
An infrared camera shows heat moving through walls, ceilings and floors in places you can’t see.
Building envelope
Insulation assessment
Attic, walls and crawl space checked for coverage, depth and gaps that let conditioned air escape.
Distribution
Ductwork inspection
Leaky ducts can waste a large share of what your system produces before it reaches a room.
Equipment
HVAC efficiency review
Age, sizing and condition of your heating and cooling equipment, and whether it matches the house.
Water heating
Water heating
How your water heater is performing and whether a tankless upgrade would pay for itself here.
Electrical
Panel and load check
Whether your panel can support efficient equipment, an EV charger or a heat pump conversion.
Deliverable
Written report and plan
A prioritized list of what to fix first, what it costs and what it should save you.
Consumption
Energy usage assessment
We review your recent utility bills alongside the findings so the numbers connect to real spending.
Our Process
Book the assessment
A short call to confirm your address, the age of your home and what’s prompting the audit. Rising bills, uneven rooms, a system nearing the end of its life.
The in-home audit
A certified energy auditor walks the whole house with a blower door and infrared camera, testing every item listed above. You’re welcome to follow along.
Your report and plan
We sit down with the findings, rank the fixes by payback, and cover financing and any incentives you qualify for. No obligation to do the work with us.
Before you book
Pricing depends on the size and age of the home. We quote it upfront on the booking call, before anyone comes out, and we’ll tell you if the cost gets credited toward work you decide to do afterward. Placeholder: confirm actual pricing and credit policy with James before publishing.
Three to four hours for a typical single-family home. Larger or older houses can run longer. You don’t need to be home the whole time, though most people find the walkthrough is the useful part.
Measures rather than guesses. A blower door test quantifies air leakage, an infrared camera shows heat movement through the building envelope, and the insulation, ductwork, HVAC and water heating all get assessed against how the house is actually used.
Often yes. “Normal” is relative to a house that may have been losing energy since it was built. The audit tells you whether you’re paying for comfort you’re not getting, and whether the fix is a few hundred dollars of sealing or a system replacement.
